Resident Evil 2 (2019)

Capcom bucks the typical “HD artwork upgrade” formula as it remakes its classic from 1998, Resident Evil 2. The book club crew breaks the reimagined game down, discussing how the change in perspective informs changes in gameplay. They discuss what game designers have learned over twenty years, how the game manages pace, and the infamous resource management aspect that put the “survival” in “survival-horror”.
